Exactly 50 years ago, 90% of Icelandic women took a powerful stand for fair opportunities and equal pay with the "Day Without Women." The effects of this historic strike are still felt today: Companies with a balanced gender representation and targeted advancement of women are demonstrably more successful and innovative. At the same time, much remains to be done to ensure that women in the workplace not only experience equal rights, but also real opportunities for development and health.
